BROOKFIELD, Ill. — Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. is recalling about 90,860 battery-operated chainsaws in the United States after reports that a safety feature may fail to activate, posing a risk of serious cuts to users.
The recall, announced Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, affects M18 FUEL top handle chainsaws with 12-inch or 14-inch bars. An additional 7,500 units were sold in Canada.
The company received two reports of the chain brake failing to activate, including one incident that resulted in a lacerated finger, according to the safety commission.
