GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - The Roice-Hurst Humane Society says, due to the shutdown and threats to SNAP benefits come November 1st, thousands of households around Mesa and Delta counties may be faced with the impossible choice of either putting food on their table or in their pet's bowl.
To the over 11,000 households in Mesa County and 3,500 in Delta County who rely on SNAP food benefits, Roice-Hurst wants you to know their Pet Pantry is here to help feed your furry friend. The pantries in Grand Junction and Delta are open to anyone in need of pet food or supplies. Roice-Hurst hopes these efforts will help keep beloved best friends at home where they belong.
“Our mission at Roice-Hurst Humane Society is to promote bonds between pets and their people,” says communications director Jen
