London: King Charles has removed his younger brother Andrew’s title of prince and asked him to vacate his residence at Windsor, Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday. The move aims to further distance the royal family from Andrew due to his association with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew, 65, the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has faced growing scrutiny in recent years over his conduct and connection to Epstein. Earlier this month, he was also stripped of his Duke of York title.
King Charles has taken his actions against Andrew a step further by removing all his remaining titles, which means that he will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, Reuters reported.
