Buckingham Palace also requires monarch's brother to vacate royal lodging

Britain’s King Charles has made the extraordinary move of removing all titles and honours of his younger brother Andrew, Buckingham Palace said in a statement Thursday.

Andrew will also be required to move out of his royal residence and into another private home.

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” the full statement from Buckingham Palace reads.

“Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”
