Canucks winger Brock Boeser was knocked out of Vancouver’s Thursday road game against the St. Louis Blues in the opening minute when a shot struck him in the lower midsection.
The team ruled him out for the night.
Boeser was helped off the ice 33 seconds after puck drop. Vancouver defenseman Elias Pettersson’s slap shot from the point struck him at close range.
The Canucks were already ravaged by injuries before Thursday. Star defenseman Quinn Hughes (lower body) and forward Conor Garland (undisclosed) headline a 10-player injured list.
Boeser entered Thursday tied for fourth on the Canucks with six points (four goals, two assists) through nine games. He missed two games earlier in October for personal reasons.
The 28-year-old Minnesota native has 208 goals and 232 assists in 564 game
