SOMERSWORTH – The third-seeded Somersworth High School volleyball team made short work - 54 minutes to be exact - of No. 14 Fall Mountain in its 3-0 Division II first-round matchup on Thursday, Oct. 30.
Individual game scores were 25-13, 25-6, 25-9.
Somersworth improved to 17-2 and will host No. 6 Con-Val on Saturday in a quarterfinal contest. Somersworth swept Con-Val, 3-0 in the only regular-season meeting between the two schools. Con-Val advanced with a 3-0 win over No. 11 Winnisquam.
“I was very proud of the way the girls played tonight,” said Somersworth coach Steve Hodsdon. “I told them, ‘We haven’t played (Fall Mountain) in seven or eight years. They don’t know what kind of beasts you can be. I want them to know really fast tonight.’ So that was the game-plan tonight, to come out
