Mikaylah Williams put her fingerprints all over the LSU women’s basketball team’s first exhibition game, a 102-point victory over Division II Mississippi College.
Then, on Thursday, the star junior took a moment in the Tigers’ second preseason tune-up to offer a glimpse into the ways in which coach Kim Mulkey’s new-look group could find their way back into the Final Four.
First, she stole the ball from a Langston guard on the perimeter. Then she started a fast break and dropped a nifty behind-the-back pass to MiLaysia Fulwiley, who converted an open layup to cap the transition chance.
LSU likes to run. Especially because its top three players all thrive in transition, as each of Williams, Fulwiley and Flau’jae Johnson showed on Thursday in a 121-41 exhibition win over the NAIA Lion
