GREENSBORO, N.C. — As more people living in the U.S. connect with family in Jamaica, they're also figuring out what they can do here to help.

Even days after the storm has passed, emotions continue to run high for people with deep roots in Jamaica.

"Not getting a whole lot of sleep… very, very worried," said Dr. Uzama Price, President of Greensboro's Jamaican Association.

Dr. Price is one of them. Born in Jamaica but living in Greensboro for two decades. She said she’s been able to contact her mom and aunt in Kingston.

"She's got power, she's got water now, but we know that a lot of people are without utilities. We know that the infrastructure is just destroyed," Dr. Price said.
