VERMONT (ABC22/FOX44) - According to Green Mountain Power and other utility companies across the state, power is currently out for more than 4,300 customers in Vermont Thursday evening.
Rutland County is reported to be especially affected. Hundreds of customers are without power in Shrewsbury, Rutland Town, Poultney, Clarendon, and Chittenden.
However, there are outages as far north as Underhill. High winds have accompanied rain, especially on the western slopes of the Green Mountains, and the National Weather Service earlier issued a Wind Advisory in effect until 5:00 a.m. Friday.
Earlier in the evening, power was out for more than 6,000 customers. Blissville Road was reported blocked in Castleton earlier in the evening after a tree fell on power lines; the road is now open.
