LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - On Oct. 24, Lexington Police began investigating the city’s 20th homicide.

Thomas Kriegel was found dead inside his home on Lakebow Court with a single gunshot wound.

Kriegel was a longtime Lexington realtor and former colleagues say his death has brought the real estate community together.

On Thursday, a 17-year-old was charged in connection with the murder of Kriegel.

“He didn’t deserve to live to be 81 and have to go this way. And he cared about people, he helped people a lot and we’ll miss him,” Longtime friend and colleague Vicky Roark said.

She says many realtors reached out to her after hearing about the arrest in Kriegel’s murder.
