A suspect is at large after an armed robbery Thursday night on Paris Road in Columbia.

Columbia Police responded to reports of the robbery around 7:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of Paris Road, according to a news release.

A cashier reportedly told police the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the register.

Police said the suspect was seen with one hand in his pocket and made statements indicating that he had a weapon. After taking the money the suspect fled south, according to the news release.

The cashier described the suspect as a male between 18 and 22 years old with a slight build and of average height, according to CPD. During the armed robbery, the suspect was seen wearing a black hoodie, a black mask, black pants with black markings and a dark-colored backpack.
