PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - Thursday night was a night of learning and remembrance at the LaPointe-Krebs House and Museum.
Pascagoula’s history was on full display during a cemetery tour.
Guests learned the lives of those who have passed while walking among the Historic Krebs Cemetery tombstones.
Volunteers say it’s important to know the past to prepare for the future, and to teach the younger generation before it’s too late.
“A lot of young people, even adults today, don’t realize what it took to settle this land and create a country,” event director Dan Lee said. ”And then, how do you keep a country going? You can’t keep a country going if you don’t know where it came from."
