BOSTON — Marat Khusnutdinov’s first goal of the season came at an ideal time.

After the Bruins lost a two-goal lead in the third period, Khusnutdinov fired a wrist shot past Alex Lyon, 2:07 into overtime to give Boston a 4-3 win on Thursday at TD Garden.

Joonas Korpisalo was excellent for the second straight game, as Boston improved to 6-7-0.

The Bruins host Carolina on Saturday.

Morgan Geekie extended his goal streak to six games. He fired a wrist shot past Alex Lyon, on the power play, 13:07 into the first period.

David Pastrnak made it 2-0 exactly two mintues later. He stole the puck along the boards in the Bruins’ end and took off up the ice. He saw daylight between Lyon’s pads and threaded the five-hole to extend the lead.
