NILES, Mich. — It was treats before touchdowns in Niles Thursday night as the city split from tradition, hosting its community trick-or-treating a day early so fans can hit the stands on Halloween night to see the Niles Vikings take on Zeeland West in a home football playoff game.
With the trick-or-treating taking place early, the Vikings got together Thurs. for a team dinner where they packed hundreds of bags of candy that was donated by local businesses and the community.
The cheerleaders plan to hand that candy out during the game Fri., making sure every kid gets their Halloween fill.
