India captain Harmanpreet Kaur revealed after her side’s win over Australia in the ODI World Cup semi-final that head coach Amol Muzumdar’s fiery pep talk after the England loss helped them regroup and stay composed during their record run chase. India chased down 339 to seal a place in the World Cup final — the highest successful chase in Women’s ODI history.
A composed 127* from Jemimah Rodrigues led the way . Her 167-run stand with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur powered India to a five-wicket win over the defending champions. But the journey to the final wasn’t easy. Earlier in the tournament, India lost to England despite needing just 55 off 52 balls in a 289 chase, a collapse that drew heavy criticism. This time, however, they held their nerve when it mattered most.
