New Orleans police are investigating a second fatal hit-and-run Thursday night, this one at Prytania and Third streets , where one person was declared dead and the other was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The New Orleans Police Department said a call came in at 10:54 p.m. that two people were struck by a vehicle that did not stay at the scene. One victim was declared dead by paramedics, while the other was taken to the hospital.

No other information is was made available.

The crash followed another hit-and-run on Chef Menteur Highway about an hour earlier that killed one person.
