CLEVELAND, Ohio – As the federal government shutdown stretches into its fifth week, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is expanding its support for unpaid federal employees by inviting the public to donate to its food pantry.

Federal workers at the airport — including air traffic controllers, TSA officers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents, and others — continue to work without pay.

The airport’s free pantry, originally stocked through internal donations from airport staff and partners, is now accepting contributions from the public to meet growing demand.

Starting Thursday, members of the public can drop off donations at the airport’s Information Counter in the ticketing area between 4 a.m. and 8 p.m.
