Nagpur : A major mishap was narrowly avoided at Nagpur Railway Station around 3 pm on Wednesday when smoke and flames were spotted from an AC coach of a train stationed on the pit line between Platform No. 7 and the yard. Swift and coordinated action by alert railway staff prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining coaches.

According to officials, smoke was first noticed from the rear end of the B2 coach (No. CR-131343) of an ICF rake. Within moments, thick smoke billowed out, followed by visible flames. On-duty railway employees immediately rushed to the spot and began firefighting using extinguishers. When the flames persisted, the staff broke the coach windows and deployed electric fire extinguishers and water jets to douse the blaze.
