ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The final tune up before the start of the regular season ended in the UNM Lobos favor Thursday night. Eric Olen's Lobos defeated Northern Arizona 64-54.
It was the first time UNM fans got a chance to see the team of all new coaches and all new players in a game setting. Antonio Chol led the Lobos in scoring with 20 points. He finished 5 -11 from the three point line. Jake Hall was the only other Lobo in double figures with 12.
Just like the first exhibition game, a loss at Washington State, the Lobos struggled making shots. The team finished the game 10-32 from the three point line, an improvement from last week's 11-44 performance from deep. From the free throw line, the Lobos shot 69%.
Defensively, the team finished with five blocks and eight steals.
