Farah Khan has often opened up about her parents’ separation and financial hardships in the family. The filmmaker’s father, Kamran Khan, a successful producer once, fell on hard days and took to the bottle. By the time he died, the family was destitute and Farah had to start working at the age of 15 to help shoulder the burden. She has spoken about how the money for her father’s funeral was also borrowed from friends and family.
