Police say one person has reportedly sustained serious injuries after a crash on the Bass Highway.

Emergency services are on the scene of a single motorbike crash on the highway at Elizabeth Town, near Dudleys Road.

Traffic heading towards Devonport will be diverted up Gannons Hill Road onto Railton Road towards Latrobe. Large trucks will be required to stop and wait.

Police are asking motorists to avoid the area, if possible, or anticipate delays until the scene is clear.
