FC Dallas is in a must-win situation in the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs. After losing to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the best-of-three series, they have to win at home on Saturday, or the playoff run is over.
The man in the net for the hometown team is a hometown guy, Michael Collodi, who is from Frisco.
Leading up to the playoffs, though, his parents were the ones who became the subject of conversation. Mike and Stacey Collodi have kept a video record of their son’s career since he started at 5 years old.
“We said God made him be a goalkeeper. That’s just what he is, and he has been since day one,” Mike Collodi said.
His mom said it has been their joy to watch.
“We just kept encouraging him to chase your dream, do what it takes,” Stacey Collodi said.
