Local nonprofit Amy's Purpose celebrated five years of purpose at its doggie fashion show and dinner, held Oct. 12 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage. The sold-out event honored philanthropist Phyllis Eisenberg and featured entertainment by singer Patricia Welch and guitarist Sergio A. Villegas.
During the cocktail hour, guests were treated to intuitive readings by numerologist David Groode as they enjoyed a no-host bar and perused the art of Aspen Del Ryo and the Wearable Art designs of Alexis Hunter.
Serving as emcee, Patrick Evans brought his usual good nature and charm to the event. And plenty of tears were shed when Welch performed a stunning rendition of "Over the Rainbow" while a video of departed pets and their human guardians played.
The evening's honoree, Eisenberg
