SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Jammu and Kashmir Government signs MoU for developing Srinagar Water Metro in presence of CM Omar Abdullah , Transport Minister Satish Sharma.

The J&K Government signed an MoU with the Inland Water Authority of India for developing the Srinagar Water Metro, inspired by the Kochi Water Metro model.

The Project will enhance connectivity along Dal Lake & River Jhelum, reduce congestion and promote sustainable urban transport.

A similar initiative is planned for Jammu with sites such as Akhnoor, Reasi identified.

Secretary Transport Avny Lavas was also there.
