BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A Brazos County jury sentenced a San Angelo man to 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to crimes from 2021.
Zachary Pfluger, 31, was found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for shooting a man three times. The jury also found that Pfluger committed the crime “because of bias or prejudice,” according to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.
On Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 , College Station police responded to a 911 call from a man reporting Pfluger had shot him twice. During the call, dispatchers heard a third gunshot followed by cries of pain.
Officers responding forced entry into Pfluger’s apartment, where they say he ran to his bedroom and threatened to shoot if officers approached his door.
