(WJBF) - The problem of youth violence is taking a toll on Augusta.

It impacts everyone in the community.

And it will take the community to solve the problem.

In part three of Saving our Children, we'll hear from Augusta's mayor and meet a high school student who is stepping up to do her part.

Youth violence.

Kids hurting other kids.

Young lives lost.

"Youth violence especially perpetuated on black- on -black crime is out of control."

Augusta Mayor Garnett Johnson says he knows what's needed to stop youth violence.

"When you see bad things, you have to speak up and intervene and try to change the directions of their lives."
