Actor Jesse Eisenberg, perhaps best-known for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in “ The Social Network ,” announced Thursday he is donating one of his kidneys to a complete stranger.
What is spurring Eisenberg to make such a significant gesture?
“It’s essentially risk-free and so needed,” Eisenberg tells TODAY.com . “I think people will realize that it’s a no-brainer, if you have the time and the inclination.”
He first revealed his intention to donate while appearing on “Today” on NBC. Host Craig Melvin was praising Zuckerberg for being a big supporter of blood drives, CNN reports .
“Yeah that’s true,” Eisenberg said. “I’m actually donating my kidney in six weeks. I really am. ... I’m so excited to do it.”
