SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — There may be some relief on the way for soybean farmers in all three, Siouxland states.
President Donald Trump announced on October 30 that China has agreed to buy soybeans and other agricultural products from the U.S. again.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said China will buy 12 million metric tons of soybeans through the rest of 2025 and 25 million metric tons of soybeans annually for three years.
Farmers have been impacted by the tariffs placed on China earlier this year, which resulted in many of them putting away grain and holding off on purchasing new farm equipment.
Iowa Farmers Union President Aaron Lehman said farmers were heavily impacted when China wasn't buying soybeans from the U.S.
