SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Rescue Me Ranch in Sennett is providing a sanctuary for abused and neglected horses while offering a unique therapy program for veterans.
The ranch, founded by Elsa Soderberg, rehabilitates horses like Ticket, who was once emaciated and confined indoors. Now, these horses live freely in a herd, which aids their healing process. The ranch also hosts a therapy program where veterans work with horses to find clarity and peace.
"What do you get from your time with the horses? Clarity, calmness, reflection, and peace," said Warren Koontz, a veteran who participates in the program.
