A charity group has been given the green light to turn a vacant office space in John Dickie Street into a cafe. ‌

East Ayrshire Churches Homelessness Action , previously lodged a planning application, seeking permission for a change of use at the former marriage suite within the Civic Centre North building. ‌

Now council planners have given the venture their approval. ‌

Agents in the proposals were AJ Tognini Chartered Architects and the applicant was East Ayrshire Churches Homelessness Action.

The plans included a change of use of the former council office room (marriage suite room), staff kitchen, and hall, to form (class 3) eating area/cafe, for the applicant. It’s understood that the rooms are currently vacant.
