As the leaves turn color and daylight fades, it’s almost time to reset the clocks.

On Sunday, Nov. 2, Daylight Saving Time will officially end , with clocks “falling back” from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m., according to TimeAndDate.com .

Since Daylight Saving Time ends on the first Sunday of November, this year’s change occurs a day earlier than last year, when the shift occurred on Nov. 3.

The semiannual tradition of “springing forward” in March and “falling back” in November has been part of American life for over a century.

It was first introduced in 1918 under the term “Fast Time,” but was repealed less than a year later. Still, cities like New York, Boston, and Pittsburgh kept the custom alive.
