Adilabad: A contractor who was arrested for allegedly harassing the husband of a beneficiary of the Indiramma housing scheme escaped from police custody in Boath mandal centre on Thursday night, creating a flutter.

The contractor, Kamble Satyanarayana, managed to give the police a slip while in custody under the guise of using the washroom at the Boath police station after having dinner. He was arrested after a case was registered against him for tying Lokande Maruthi, husband of Deeksha, to a pole for refusing to pay Rs 1 l
