AIADMK on Friday expelled its senior leader and former minister KA Sengottaiyan from the party , a day after he appeared alongside expelled leaders O Panneerselvam and TTV Dhinakaran in a show of unity.
Announcing the decision, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) said Sengottaiyan had “brought down the dignity of the party by meeting expelled leaders” and had repeatedly violated party rules.
Palaniswami said, “AIADMK has always stood firm on the principles laid down by MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. Any individual, regardless of position or seniority, who acts in violation of these principles will face strict disciplinary action. No one is above the party and its ideology.” He also directed members to avoid all contact with Sengottaiyan.
