At 7:58 a.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released a wind advisory valid from 11 a.m. until Saturday 8 a.m. for Hamilton, Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Warren, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster, Dutchess and Washington counties.
The weather service states, "West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph expected."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," says the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
