Starting Saturday a new law says you can get fined $100 dollars just for holding your phone in a construction or school zone.
A parent's opinion
Most students are in a school zone at least twice a day for drop off and pick-up, which is the case for Christi Tom's children, but she isn't sure this new law is the solution to keeping drivers off their phones.
"I do drop off my kids at two different schools every day, and then pick them up at a bus stop, which is also a school zone," said Christi Tom, Tulsa.
She believes both school and construction zones are the most vulnerable spots on the road.
"That's where human beings are out there with cars, and cars are getting bigger, I mean, and more dangerous, just of how large they are and how high they are," said Tom.
