Iowa women’s basketball had its first moments in the spotlight Thursday night with an exhibition match against Ashland, defeating the Eagles 104-63. It was the first time Hawkeye fans saw the new starting lineup and bench rotation, and what this particular Iowa team could look like throughout the season.
Here are some takeaways from the Hawkeyes’ exhibition win.
The starting five and early subs
As expected, sophomore guard Chit-Chat Wright got the starting nod. She was joined by Taylor McCabe, Kylie Feuerbach, Hannah Stuekle and Ava Heiden. The experienced lineup boasted a lot of quick passes, particularly in transition.
