The owner of a classic car is aiming to drive off with a top award next week. ‌

Troon’s Colin Fidler and his beloved 1956 Austin A35 have been shortlisted in a UK competition aimed at finding the Best of the Best classic cars. ‌

Colin is one of five classic car owners shortlisted for the top accolade, in the competition run by Classic car company Lancaster Insurance. ‌

Basically, the top five finalists are in the Pride of Ownership Best of the Best competition - selected from the past decade of winners.

These owners have all restored their classic cars to an award-winning level and Colin will battle it out with four others for the main prize.

Colin’s Austin A35 was rescued from a front garden by the owner’s Uncle Robin, who nicknamed it ‘Rusty.’ ‌
