Tri-state Schnucks stores are hosting a local food drive through November 11.

This is to support local food banks and pantries as they feel the impact of paused SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown.

The most requested non-perishable items include: light tuna or salmon, canned chicken, meat, soups, canned fruit and vegetables, rice, and boxed meal kits.

There will be a donation bin in each store.

The grocery chain gives away more than $15 million of in-kind donations annually.
