MALDEN, Mo. (KFVS) - A registered sex offender accused of trying to enter a school in Malden was arrested on Thursday, October 30.

According to a probable cause statement, 47-year-old George J. White, of Malden, is accused of trying to enter the Malden Elementary School on Wednesday as students were being released for the day.

White reportedly told a woman at the door that he wanted to come inside to see if students were being taught the Constitution and about the U.S. government.

The woman replied that students were and that she could not let him into the school. She said he would have to come back on Thursday and make an appointment.

Officers said they later found White walking in the back lot of the Malden Community building and learned that he was an active registered sex offender.
