Rough weather arrives as Hurricane Melissa heads toward Canadian waters

HALIFAX — Gusty winds and rain were lashing parts of the Maritimes this morning as a large low-pressure system moved into the northeastern United States and Hurricane Melissa accelerated towards eastern Newfoundland.
