Virginia Giuffre's family is praising Andrew Mountbatten Windsor being stripped of his prince title.
Sky Roberts, the brother of the late Jeffrey Epstein accuser, cried when reflecting on how his sister would have reacted to the removal of the former prince's title and honors.
"She'd be so proud. He's just Andrew. He's no longer a prince," Roberts told BBC Newsnight, getting emotional. "She is celebrating from the heavens right now, saying, 'I did it.' This normal girl from a normal family has taken down the prince."
Andrew was ousted as a senior royal following allegations over his connections to convicted American sex offender Epstein. The royal title announcement came amid the release of a posthumous memoir from Giuffre. In "Nobody's Girl," released Oct. 21, Giuffre gave further details about her previous sexual abuse allegations against Windsor, including that he correctly guessed she was 17, hours before convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell allegedly instructed her to have sex with him. Giuffre said Epstein later paid her $15,000 for "servicing the man the tabloids called 'Randy Andy.'"
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, King Charles III initiated the formal process to remove Windsor's titles.
"We are so proud of her, her survivors are proud of her, her sisters," Roberts, sitting alongside his wife Amanda Roberts, told the BBC. "This is a moment that is unprecedented in history."
Sky Roberts called the news "bittersweet." Giuffre died by suicide in April at age 41.
"It is surreal that she's not here, and that she didn't get a chance to see this in her lifetime," Amanda Roberts added. "But it's amazing, and everything she fought for was not in vain. And it truly is a moment for her and all survivors."
Though the former Duke of York continues to deny collaborating with the disgraced sex offender and claims he has no recollection of meeting Giuffre, he previously said in a statement shared by the palace that he agrees the controversy surrounding him has posed a distraction for the royal family.
