US Vice President JD Vance responded sharply to accusations of “throwing his wife’s religion under the bus", calling it “disgusting" and affirming that his wife, Usha Vance, had no plans to convert her religion.
This came after Vance became the centre of a major controversy when he said that he would like for his Indian-origin wife to follow Christianity, as their children are being raised as Christians and that she often joins them at church. Indian-Americans accused Vance of being disrespectful of Hinduism.
One of the posts targeted Vance’s remarks, saying, “It’s weird to throw your wife’s religion under the bus, in public, for a moment’s acceptance by groypers."
