TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona State Sun Devils football team received some major injury news.
Sun Devil quarterback Sam Leavitt will be out for the rest of the 2025 college football season, head coach Kenny Dillingham said.
The ASU head coach revealed the bad news during a radio interview on the Bickley and Marotta Show Friday. He also said Leavitt will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a lingering injury.
Leavitt was expected to be out for Saturday’s game against Iowa State. He was previously in a walking boot for the injury he sustained in ASU’s win over Baylor.
ASU's offense will now be in the hands of Jeff Sims. The sixth-year senior will start for Leavitt with Cam Dyer set as the backup quarterback.
