THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office arrested one man for animal cruelty after finding several malnourished dogs.
According to TCSO, investigators were conducting Sex Offender Verification Residency Status when they found five pit bull dogs in “a severe state of malnutrition.”
TCSO said the dogs were in a metal kennel outside the home where Recarda Hart, 43, lived.
Investigators learned that one of the puppies had died in the kennel and had been eaten by the other dogs.
Hart, who TCSO said is a registered sex offender, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.
The remaining dogs were taken by Thomas County Animal Services and are being cared for.
