When Sebastian Vollmer is spotted in the press box these days, he looks radically different than he did as a player.

Now a broadcaster for the German TV network RTL, the offensive tackle who protected Tom Brady for seven seasons with the Patriots is far skinnier than he used to be. The weight loss is obvious, and now a story from The Athletic has put a number on it.

According to Elise Devlin , when a retired Vollmer found out he was going to be a father, the once 320-pound lineman dropped 85 pounds in nine months.

There was no fad diet or secret formula for Vollmer. The former Patriots lineman just learned about the food groups, cut out dairy after finding he was slightly allergic to milk, worked out, and got very disciplined, per The Athletic.
