A man convicted of sexual abuse in the Uintah Basin is among a list of recent arrests highlighted by the Department of Homeland Security.
On October 30th, a press release was issued announcing that despite the shutdown, arrests are continuing to be made by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, focused on pedophiles, abusers, violent assailants and drug traffickers.
Among the arrests listed was “Joel Ocampo-Martinez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, convicted for attempted forcible sexual abuse in Vernal, Utah.”
In the press release, Department of Homeland Security’s Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Nothing will slow us down from making America safe again—not even a government shutdown.”
