The superintendent of Boston Public Schools is getting a pay raise after the school committee voted unanimously this week to increase Mary Skipper 's salary by 15%, bringing her total compensation to $393,943.
The Boston Globe reports that Skipper’s income this year includes $324,643 in base pay, plus a $60,000 annuity, $7,800 for transportation costs, and $1,500 for dental care, according to the district's summary of the contract changes released during Wednesday’s meeting. She will also receive annual pay increases of 3 percent, so long as she receives an overall rating of “proficient” or “exemplary” on her annual performance evaluation.
