PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - A Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputy was injured Thursday evening when a suspect hit him with a vehicle during an attempted arrest in Pennfield Township.
Deputies were called around 7:30 p.m. to the Taco Bell at 1307 NE Capital Avenue to check on a man who appeared unresponsive inside a vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
When a deputy arrived, he found a 47-year-old man unconscious in the driver’s seat.
Lifecare Ambulance Service and the Pennfield Township Fire Department responded and medically cleared the man at the scene.
During the investigation, deputies learned the man had an active felony warrant for his arrest. It is currently unclear what the warrant was for.
