CALHOUN COUNTY, MI — Police were called for a welfare check at Taco Bell that ended with the arrest of the man they were asked to check on.

At 7:28 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Taco Bell at 1307 NE Capital Ave. in Pennfield Township to check on the man who was unresponsive in a vehicle.

A deputy located a 47-year-old man unresponsive in the driver’s seat. Lifecare Ambulance Service and Pennfield Township Fire Department personnel responded and medically cleared the person.

During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered the man had an active felony warrant for his arrest. While attempting to take the suspect into custody, he resisted, police said.
