GRAND FORKS — Special teams have been important for UND this season.
The Fighting Hawks have won the special teams battle in four of six games. They're 4-0 in those games.
They've lost special teams twice. They're 0-2 in those games.
UND hosts Minnesota Duluth at 7:07 p.m. Friday and 6:07 p.m. Saturday in Ralph Engelstad Arena — a series where special teams could decide the outcome again.
In the last meeting between the teams in February, UND scored four power-play goals and routed the Bulldogs.
"It will be a big challenge for us," UND center Ollie Josephson said. "Duluth is really good right now. I think they're 7-1. We're going to have to be playing our best."
Minnesota Duluth is 4-0 when winning special teams, 0-1 when losing it and 3-0 when special teams goals are equal.
